Warm Weather Shawl Project
It is that time of year when most of you are tidying up your yards and planting your gardens. It is also that time of year when some of you are excited about knitting your summer accessories.
Here is an example of a beautiful summer shawl, West River Drive Shawl, knit with Shibui Yarns Linen. Made with four colors, this shawl is the ultimate summer travel project. Once you get past the fun garter tab cast-on, the shawl is knitted up in no time. This easy and portable project has just enough happening to keep your interest. Best of all, once the project is complete, you will have a lovely shawl to keep the chill off your shoulders.
Linen is a fingering weight 100% linen yarn with a unique chainette construction. This creates an airy fabric unlike any other linen. Whether knit on a small or large needle, held doubled or knit on it's own- the drape is fantastic and it only gets softer with time!
Stop by the boutique to see all of the beautiful colors. We can surely find the right combination for you. YBD also has the sidewalk/poppy/apple/graphite color combination available in a kit (finished project above).

Wool People 5
Wool People 5: Purchase through Yarns By Designs Ravelery In-Store purchase.
'Today I’m happy to announce our newest collaborative effort – the fifth (!) installment in our ongoing Wool People series is all polished up and ready for spring and summer knitting!
The look book introduces the collection in its entirety with full page photography spreads showcasing the new designs along with blueprints that are intended to introduce the architectural/technical elements of each pattern. When considering a new knitting project, I always like knowing what I’m getting into with a schematic “road map” and some notes on construction, shape and assembly.' - Brooklyn Tweed
