Yarns By Design is thrilled to announce the return of Noro Yarns to our boutique.

Eisaku Noro founded the Noro Co., LTD more than 30 years ago in the province Aichi in Japan. He continues to create amazingly colorful wool yarn which continues to provide a pleasant surprise and great impression among knitting lovers in Japan and throughout the world.

On Thursday, July 30th from 6-8pm, Yarns By Design will host a Noro Yarn Tasting. This is your chance to sample the new Noro yarns available at the Yarns By Design boutique.

Think wine tasting...but with yarn. It is a fun way to sample the new yarns: it’s a way to find out what you like, or what you don’t like, or maybe what you love. It is also another excuse to enjoy the company of other fiber artists while testing new yarns. We will snack, chat and swatch.

You will be sampling yarns from sport up to super bulky, and the suggested needles range from size US 3 to 10. Bring the needles you have, but do not worry if you do not have all of the sizes.

The cost is $10/person. Interested in purchasing Noro yarn? If so, we will apply a $10 credit to your purchase the night of the event. Seating is limited, pre-registration is required. WIN a door prize!

Sandshore is a seamless cardigan worked from the top down. A clean mesh lace forms an intersection down the back, set slightly asymmetrically for interest. The Kestrel knits up quickly and is a smooth, dry summer yarn. It’s my new favorite!
