KAL: Shibui K.2

Upcoming KAL’s...

Shibui K.2 knit with kavo:
Join us for our May KAL designed by Kristin Ford. This simple yet trendy wrap is perfect for the upcoming months to keep yourself warm from a cool evenings breeze.

© shibui

Originating from cavo n. Italian for rope or cable, adj. Hollow. An unusual combination of strength and elegance. With a strong 2-ply cotton core and a decadent silk wrap, Kavo creates incredible knits with exceptional drape and a smooth, luxurious hand. The slight variation in diameter gives this DK weight yarn an organic feel. Intended to be knit on a range of needle sizes, Kavo’s fabric is open and airy, yet substantial enough to hold structured silhouettes. The silk wrap adds a subtle touch of sheen, making it a perfect choice for summer wear.

85% cotton, 15% silk, 224 yds / 205 m, dk weight, 50 g skein

KAL: Hudson Cowl

Quince & Co Hudson Cowl knit with Kestrel:
Join us in celebrating our newest line, Kestrel to the Yarns By Design community.

© quince & co

Quince & Company Kestrel is a new take on a simple linen yarn. It is the same Belgium-grown organic linen used in Sparrow and spun it this time in a ribbon structure. Kestrel knits up quickly at 3½ to 4 stitches to the inch. Its flat surface adds a slight texture to simple knit and purl stitches. The best thing about it is its incredible drape. Like all things linen, woven or knitted, Kestrel only gets better as you wash and wear it.

© quince & co

NOTE:
The Hudson Cowl is knitted flat beginning with a provisional cast on. Ends are grafted together to form loop. Stitches are picked up and knitted along each selvedge edge and joined for working the round.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Working in the round, picking up stitches, grafting, provisional cast on.

SAVE THE DATE:
Fridays, April 10, 17 and 24 from 6-7pm at the boutique. The cost is $15/student, plus pattern and a 10% discount on project yarn. Pre-registration is required, call today to register.
